Major Geoff "Monster" Lohmiller, 27th Fighter Squadron, with his award and Colonel (retired) Pete Marty, 1st Fighter Association Secretary/Treasurer
Major Lohmiller is an F-22 Instructor Pilot and Assistant Director of Operations for the 27th Fighter Squadron. Maj Lohmiller was hand-picked to be the first-ever operational F-22 Weapons Officer. He authored the first operational F-22 syllabi and JDAM training hit criteria, which have become the Combat Air Force standard. He designed and implemented the squadron training program to prepare pilots for Exercise NORTHERN EDGE 2006, which was the first operational F-22 participation in an exercise. His diligence resulted in 241 Red-Air kills in two weeks and 26 of 26 JDAM direct hits. Major Lohmiller is a Senior Pilot with over 1200 hours in the F-15E and F-22.

Brent Pomeroy
2Lt Brent Pomeroy, 1st Security Forces Squadron, with award, speaks to Medal of Honor recipient Peter Lemon
Lieutenant Brenton K. Pomeroy distinguished himself as Operations Officer, while deployed with the 732d Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron, Detachment 6, Mosul Iraq. Lieutenant Pomeroy expertly facilitated the graduation of over 2,000 Iraqi Police and provided force protection services for 336 convoys totaling over 6,700 miles through hostile territory. He directed recovery actions after five mortar attacks and led the communication and ballistic protection upgrades to convoy vehicles that saved numerous lives during six Improvised Explosive Device attacks. Furthermore, Lieutenant Pomeroy quickly reacted to a drive-by shooting outside the Mosul Police Services Academy and provided vital intelligence information to Iraqi Police, that aided in the successful location and raiding of terrorist hideouts. The distinctive accomplishments of Lieutenant Pomeroy’s selfless actions culminated in his award of the Bronze Star for his meritorious service during combat operations.

Sarah Rybkowski

SrA Sarah Rybkowski, 1st Logistics Repair Squadron, recieves her award from 1st FW Commander Brigadier General Burt Field and Colonel (retired) Jim Hardenbrook, 1st Fighter Association Vice President
Senior Airman Sarah Rybkowski distinguished herself as Vehicle Operator and Dispatcher while deployed with the 1058th Army Expeditionary Force, Gun Truck Detachment, Camp Speicher, Iraq. Airman Rybkowski fearlessly led her team over 300,000 miles, through multiple mortar attacks without loss of life. As lead Gun Truck operator, her vehicle was struck by an Improvised Explosive Device. She skillfully led the convoy through the kill zone and immediately rendered first-aid to the gunner, who was struck by shrapnel in the wrist and forearm. Her decisive action prevented loss of a limb. Furthermore, during a convoy attack near Mosul Iraq she displayed courage under fire when she evacuated civilian contractors, weapons and equipment from a vehicle engulfed in flames. The distinctive accomplishments of Airman Rybkowski’s heroic actions earned her the award of the Army Commendation Medal.
