The 2007 Reunion - Reno, Nevada and the September Reno Air Races March 13th, 2007: First Fighter Association members, Jim Hardenbrook and I visited Reno, Nevada the week of the 4th of March hosted by John Baczynski. John prepared a superb schedule that included a trip to the National Championship Air Races site and introductions to Michael Houghton the President/CEO and Betty Koch the ticketing coordinator for the National Championship Air Races. By the way besides being the President for the 27th Fighter Squadron Association, John also moonlights as the Vice Chairman of the Contest Committee for the Air Races. John then introduced us to the sales team of Jeanne Corey and Valerie Welles for the Grand Sierra resort and Casino. They provided a great tour of the meeting, hospitality, registration and suites for our use during the reunion. We have include a couple photos of the team surveying the sites and enjoying the Aerospace arsenal sitting on the ramp and hanging in the hotel. Racquet and I were ready to fire up the Migs and F-100 on the ramp but someone else had the keys.... This is an outstanding venue for our 2007 First Fighter Association reunion and if you are not fired up yet I encourage you to take a look at the WEB sites to see the Airfield and Hotel. Better yet, make plans to join America's First Team and see the Races and your friends in person September 12-16, 2007, in Reno, Nevada. Enjoy the camaraderie of the best spouses, fighter pilots, and ground crews in the world from Spads to Raptors. Oh yes you will be able to talk to the racers too. Believe me there is something for all ages and interests. Let's make this one to remember. Get the word out to the current and future members of the association. See you there! Cheers, |
